OLOTAYAN ISLAD: THE MINI BORACAY OF ROXAS CITY

Olotayan Island is a barangay in Roxas City, Capiz. It is just 45-minute motorboat ride from the wharf of Pan-ay, Capiz. The word Olotayan came from the native word “olo” meaning head, and “tyan” meaning stomach.
Santa Monica Parish Church in the Municipality of Panay, Province of Capiz
The church walls and pillars are made of coral stones and decorated with arched and antiquated windows and column carvings of European origin. The statues of Saint Thomas, Saint Agustin, and Saint Monica flanked on the wall crannies.
The church was closed when I visited one Easter afternoon so I wasn’t able to check the altar and the interior of the belfry.
